Studio 3xf is a parametric design office, based in Amsterdam and Zaandam (NL). Studio3xf stands for design-driven automation. I help manufacturing companies streamline their design and drawing work using parametric scripts that integrate into their existing workflows. Not off-the-shelf tools, but custom-built systems – created with both technical insight and practical approach.

Background

Hello! My name is Wilco Spruijt. I'm an industrial designer with a fascination for smart systems and production processes. I’ve worked across the full spectrum of product development – from initial concept through technical drawings to the final product. That broad experience helps me understand what’s needed to make a design not only functional and aestethical but also0 manufacturable. I now apply that same translation from design to realisation in my script development. I founded Studio 3xf to combine my experience in design, engineering and automation into a service for manufacturing companies seeking efficiency without being tied to heavy, inflexible software solutions.

Vision

For me, parametric design is not a goal in itself, but a way to work smarter. By translating design logic and production know-how into structured systems, you can save time, reduce errors, and enable flexibility within repetition. A parametric script turns repetitive drawing work into a strength, transforming it into a smart, scalable system.
I believe in a transparent and iterative process. By building scripts layer by layer and making them usable from the start, I involve the client early on. That leads to direct feedback and mutual trust – both essential for a successful result.

Approach

Each script starts with a detailed analysis of the product, drawing approach, and relevant parameters. I gather both explicit design requirements and implicit knowledge from production or engineering teams. Based on that, I develop a structured system that can be used and tested during development. The result: a script that makes sense, fits real-world use, and can easily evolve as needed.
